Amy Grant To Play Rocksino On March 1st

Gospel singer and crossover artist Amy Grant will perform on Friday, March 1st at Northfield's Hard Rock Rocksino.  First coming to prominence in the early1980s as a Contemporary Christian artist, the so-called "Queen of Christian Pop" attained some crossover success with her hugely successful duet with vocalist and former Chicago singer Peter Cetera.  Their tune "The Next Time I Fall" was a gigantic radio success, and it opened Grant to a much wider audience.

In 1991, she released her first "mainstream" album Heart In Motion.  It spawned the #1 single "Baby, Baby." The album also had four other charting songs, firmly establishing Grant as a force in both the pop world and the Contemporary Christian market.

She then released several successful Christmas albums throughout the 1990s, became a successful author, and then got into TV production with the reality show Three Wishes in 2005.  The NBC show, expensive to produce, went away after one season.

Still actively producing music, the singer has been nominated for eighteen Grammys, won six of them, won twenty-two Gospel Music Association Dove Music Awards, and is perhaps best known for being the first Christian artist to have a Platinum album under her belt.

In 2000 she married current Eagles member Vince Gill, who has played the Rocksino himself, in 2016.
