Bourbon and Beyond To Get Kentucky Buzzed in September
It seems every calendar year more and more music festivals get added to our already-packed "must see" entertainment schedules. And, like most things, some of them are better than others. Closing out the summer in our neighboring state to the south is one festival, however cliche that it may sound, that you truly don't want to miss. If you consider yourself a music fan, this hootenanny is bringing together the best music from multiple genres from bands going back to the late 1960s.
Sporting a lineup for the ages (Woodstock 50th? Who cares!), the Bourbon & Beyond gathering in Louisville's Expo Center is a perfect way to spend a raucous extended weekend. The three-day festival is hosting Foo Fighters, Robert Plant, Hall & Oates, Joan Jett, ZZ Top, and John Fogerty, among a lineup of forty five-plus artists that will cap a perfect summer.
Friday's lineup consists of Foo Fighters, Fogerty, Live, Nathaniel Rateliff, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Blackberry Smoke, and The Record Company, among others.
Saturday offers headliner Robert Plant, Hall & Oates, Trey Anastasio, Grace Potter and Squeeze among a lineup of sixteen acts scheduled to perform on its second day.
Sunday, the fest's last day, the Zac Brown Band, ZZ Top (on their 50th anniversary tour), Kurt Vile, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, and Caroline Jones will take to the main stage.
What a lineup!
Of course, several types of bourbon and food will be showcased as well.
