Christopher Cross Heading To Akron's Goodyear Theater

Multi-award winner Christopher Cross will be making a rare Northeast Ohio appearance at Akron's fabulous Goodyear Theater on Saturday, March 16th.

Perhaps best known for the theme song from the 1981 Dudley Moore comedy Arthur, he went on to win an Oscar for that tune, capping an incredible few years in the early 1980s.

His 1979 debut record, Christopher Cross gave him immediate success in both consumers and critic's eyes.  Charting with hit singles such as "Ride Like The Wind," "Sailing" and "Never Be The Same," Cross went on to win five Grammys for that album, pulling off something that no artist had ever done prior to his wins:  Cross took home all four major Grammy awards at the 23rd Annual Grammy Awards in February of 1981.

His eponymous album won the award for "Record of the Year" for "Sailing," "Best New Artist," "Song of the Year" for, once again, "Sailing" and he swept with "Album of the Year."

His Oscar win for "Arthur's Theme" in 1982 cemented the young singer/songwriter as a major force in the early 1980s.  He has continued to tour and write new music ever since.
