French Jazz Ingenue Cyrille Aimee To Play Kent Stage Next Week
You've really got to hand it to The Kent Stage. They're celebrating their seventeenth year by pulling in an incredible variety of diverse acts. In a late breaking move, French jazz singer Cyrille Aimee added a last-minute Kent stop on her lengthy US tour for next week. Announced just yesterday, the ingenue will play the old Kent venue on Thursday, April 4th.
The thirtysomething year-old singer grew up in tiny Samois-sur-Seine, in Fontainebleu, France. Bursting onto the scene in early 2007, she won several different prestigious jazz competitions prior to tearing up the international scene with her voice that has a little Edith Piaf, a bit of Ella Fitzgerald's scat ability, and a modern sense of American pop tossed in as well.
Adding to an already-outstanding lineup of acts for the months of April and May, Aimee is sure to please jazz lovers with her keen wit and vocal talents.
