Watch Out, Barbara, The Zombies Are Coming!!
Recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Zombies will be coming to the Rock Hall's campus to perform on the museum's outdoor stage on Saturday, August 17th.
As an early "British Invasion" band, the quartet scored a number one hit in both the UK and US with "She's Not There," an immensely popular tune that made The Zombies the second Invasion band (behind The Beatles, of course) to break into the Unites States' chaotic music scene of the mid 1960s.
Their 1968 erroneously-titled Odessey and Oracle spawned a tune for the ages, "Time of the Season." The album itself sold poorly but the label was convinced to release "Time" as a single and the rest, as they say, is music history.
Rolling Stone magazine named Odessey and Oracle the #100 "greatest album" in its list of the "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time," beating out several more highly-regarded albums in our popular music pantheon.
The Zombies will perform at the Rock Hall's outdoor theater, attend a dedication and be on hand as the Rock hall celebrates Woodstock's 50th anniversary next Saturday, August 17th.
