All You Need Is Love
Brought Beatles
Classics To Life
At MGM

January 21, 2024

It has been sixty years since The Beatles crossed the pond and hit the shores of The United States, thus changing music history forever.

An all-star band consisting of Kasim Sulton, Prairie Prince, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Steve  Kimock, Gil Assayas, Mark Rashotte and Andy Forgie known as All You Need Is Love, are out celebrating the music of The Beatles.  They made a stop at MGM's Center Stage on a cold Saturday night to warm up the crowd with Beatles music.

The show was divided into two sets, with the first set consisting of songs from 1963 to 1966.  The musicianship was outstanding as each song was played note-perfect. Kasim Sulton sang most of McCartney's parts while Lennon's songs were sang by Andy Forgie.

Early hits such as "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" were played early in the set as the tunes were played in chronological order as to when they were released.

Michael Des Barres was shown on the video screens at various parts through out the performance to help tell his story about The Beatles while growing up in England as well as how these four lads from Liverpool helped change the world with their music and influence.

Other songs in the first set included a great instrumental version of "Elanor Rigby," the deep cut, "She Said, She Said" and concluded with "Got To Get You Into My Life."

After a twenty minute intermission, the band returned to play three tunes from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band including the title track, "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and "A Day In The Life."

Other tunes included "Back In The USSR," "Black Bird," "Here Comes The Sun" and the set closing "Let It Be."

Coming back for a three song encore that included "With A Little Help From My Friends," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and of course "All You Need Is Love."

It was a great night of Beatles music played by excellent musicians.
