Pantera made a return trip to The Pavilion at Star Lake on Tuesday night having previously played there in 2023.  The group led by long time members Rex Brown and Phil Anselmo, along with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante are fresh off their appearance at the Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham, England.

This was the opening show of their US headlining tour and they boys said they were going to mix it up a bit.  Indeed they did by playing songs that haven't been played live in twenty-four years and a song that had never been performed live by the band.

Before the show started, a video was played showing the band in the early days featuring Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott hanging out backstage and goofing off on tour.

Then the curtain dropped and flames exploded across the stage as the band tore into "Hellbound."  Afterwards, Phil Anselmo told the audience that everything that they do is in the memory of Dimebag and Vinnie Paul.  Even Charlie Benante's bass drums featured the images of the two brothers.

Plowing through some classics like "5 Minutes Alone" and "Mouth of War," Anselmo announced "this next song is 'Goddamn Electric'" which got a huge response from the crowd because it has not been played since 2001.

Then another surprise came as "10's" was played for the first time ever by the band in a live setting.

They of course saved the big ones for the end of the set by breaking out "Cowboys From Hell," "Walk" and the show closing "Fucking Hostile."

What a way to kick off their American tour on a hot, sticky Pittsburgh night.

Amon Amarath put on a very entertaining show with their Viking themed set.

The show started off with S.N.A.F.U. with their own brand of thrash metal.
