Mammoth Brought
The End To
The Roxian

November 16, 2025

Mammoth brought The End to The Roxian Theater in Pittsburgh last night to an enthusiastic and appreciative crowd.

Wolfgang Van Halen has been out on his own for the past five years after serving as the bassist in Van Halen since 2007.  He continues to grow not only as a musician but also as a great front man.

Hitting the stage with "One of a Kind" from their album The End, the band was off and running.  During the show Wolf noted that this show was different than in the past because they added a huge video screen that displayed different graphics and  videos for each song.  He said that the artwork was done "by a real person" and not by AI which he called "bullshit!"

Proving that he is becoming more comfortable as a front man and lead singer, Van Halen has placed mic stands at both ends of the stage so he can sing and play to both sides of the crowd.  In years past, he had remained at the front of the stage not really moving at all.

New songs like "The Spell" and "Happy" fit in nicely with songs from his first two releases like "Epiphany," "Mammoth" and "Another Celebration at the End Of The World."

Van Halen took to the keyboards to play beautiful new arrangement of "Stone" before the rest of the band joined it.

The video screens allowed Wolfie to play the video of "Distance" which features home movies of him growing up with his famous parents and then playing with the mighty Van Halen.  It has to be difficult for him to play that song every night as I know there were a few tears shed in the audience.  Afterwards, the crowd started chanting "Eddie, Eddie, Eddie!" just like they did at a Van Halen concert.

All night long, Wolfgang showed his ability on the guitar by shredding solos and playing some great rhythm as well.  However, he really showcased his skills on "Take A Bow."  That is one of the best guitar solos recorded this decade.

The band closed out the show with "Don't Back Down" and the appropriately titled "The End."

The entire concert proved that rock and roll is alive and well.

Myles Kennedy, lead singer of Alter Bridge and Slash and The Conspirators, was the special guests and played songs from his solo albums.  Most of his set consisted of songs from his latest album The Art of Letting Go.

Kennedy, who usually lets Mark Tremonti or Slash handle the lead guitar with his other bands, got to shine with some great guitar work himself.

A new hard rock outfit from LA called Return To Dust with some hard rocking originals.
