Greg's Top Ten
Concerts For
2025

Another year is almost coming to a close and with that, I want to give you my Top Ten concerts of the year.  I was fortunate to have seen over 45 different concerts this year, and some of them include artists I have seen for the first time, which I always love to experience a new show!  While others I have seen many times, but when you know the concert is good, why not see them again??

So here it is, my Top Ten concerts for 2025!

10.  Bryan Adams and Pat Benatar (Cleveland)- What a great night of '80s rock at Rocket Arena.  Both artists are still in great voice and I have seen both artists several times over the years starting in the 1980s.

9.  The Darkness (Cleveland)- Justin Hawkins and the boys put on a high energy, in your face, straight ahead rock and roll show.  The Agora was rockin' with some new tunes from their latest album, Dreams On Toast as well as some classics from Permission To Land.

8.  Keith Urban (Cuyahoga Falls)- My first time seeing this country music legend and hopefully it won't be my last.  Urban and his great backing band had Blossom Music Center singing along all night.  He also showed off his guitar playing which proved that he could be in any rock band that he wanted.

7.  Mammoth (Pittsburgh)- I believe this was my fifth time seeing Mammoth and they just keep getting better and better each time out.  Wolf Van Halen is becoming more comfortable as a front man and his guitar work is some of the best out there.

6.  Joe Bonamassa (Cleveland)- One of the best blues guitarists out there today.  Bonamassa never fails to impress.  Delta blues, rockin' blues to straight ahead rock and roll- the man can play it all.

5. Blackberry Smoke (Akron) I've seen these guys pretty much every time they have come to town over the past ten years.  And there is a good reason for that, and that's because they are one of the best bands out there today.  Based in Southern Rock, but these boys can and do play any type of music they want.  From The Beatles, to Bad Company to even Iron Maiden!  Expert musicians and showmen.  They are not to be missed.

4.  Devo (Cleveland)  These hometown heroes made their long awaited return to northeastern Ohio.  Another buck list artist to check off my list and these guys did not disappoint.  Quirky and fun, the band had several costume changes as well as wearing their iconic energy dome hats.

3.  Graham Nash (Akron)  This two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee still has it. His voice is incredible and his story telling is on point.  With a great backing band, I see no reason why this octogenarian should slow down.  Fantastic!

2.  Leslie Odom Jr. (Northfield)  The Tony, Grammy and Emmy winner proved exactly why he has won those awards.  With his beautiful tenor voice, Odom played Christmas songs but in his own way.  Some were blues infused while others had a jazz feel and some even gospel.  This was the best surprise of the year!

1.  David Byrne (Detroit)  I was so disappointed when David Byrne cancelled his Akron show.  However, seeing that he was playing Detroit on a Saturday, we decided to make the trip to Detroit to check out this show.  We are so glad we did.  David Byrne is a musical genius.  The concert was just joyous and fun.  Luckily, he will be bringing this show to Cleveland in May.  This is a must see show!

There you have it.  My Top Ten.  Did we see any of the same shows, who would be your number one??

Happy Holidays!
