Heart Pumped
Their Way Through
Classics And Covers At EJ
August 27, 2025

Heart, fronted by Ann and Nancy Wilson, made a stop at a packed EJ Thomas Hall for an evening full of Heart music and even a few covers.

Ann Wilson, who recently overcame cancer and a broken wrist, was seated in a chair center stage. The chair should have been a throne to signify her rock royalty. The woman still has an amazing voice and she proved it song after song.

Right next to her was her guitar wielding sister, who sang some great backing vocals and even took the lead for a song.

The evening kicked off with "Bebe Le Strange" and segued right into the '80s classic "Never."

After a few more classic tunes, it was Nancy's turn to take over on lead vocals. She said that love was in the air and dedicated "These Dreams" to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift who recently announced their engagement. This led Ann to quip, "Did you see that ring?"

Nancy then went to stage right to take the spotlight and play the great acoustic intro to "Crazy On You." She was jumping around, but definitely not kicking as high as she did back in the day.

Of course, no Heart concert would be complete without a Led Zeppelin cover song or two. Ann noted that Zeppelin is near and dear to the bands heart. This time around they play great versions of "Going To California" and later "The Rain Song."

Another surprising cover was "You're The Voice" by John Farnham. Ann noted that the song was a hit all over the world except in the United States. She went on to say that it was very fitting especially for the times we are in now. It fit in perfectly in the set.

The main set concluded with two mash-ups. The first being "Straight On" and David Bowie's "Lets Dance" which totally rocked. The second was two of Heart's big power ballads from the '80s, "Alone" and "What About Love."

"The Ocean" and "Barracuda" wrapped up a fantastic evening of classic rock performed b an outstanding band.
