The Church
Held Service
At The
Rock Hall

July 3, 2026

The Church made their long-awaited return to Cleveland last night at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's outdoor stage.  Originally, the band was supposed to play last year but because of an illness, they had to cancel the entire tour.

The band is celebrating The Singles: 1980-2025 on this tour and broke their show into two sets on a hot, but breezy evening.  During the first set, Steve Kilbey told several stories (some rather long-winded) about the origins of some of the songs.

Kilby and the band went through several tunes including "Electric Lash," "Metropolis" and "Reptile" during the first set while the sun was still baking down.

The band took a brief intermission to cool off and returned to play the second set under the stars.

"When You Were Mine" and "Destination" were played before Kilby told the audience that the band has been working on a new album which should be released this fall.  He gave the crowd a special treat by playing the brand new song "Western."

He also noted that a band member had fallen ill earlier in the day and their road manager was filling in for him on guitar.

Their biggest US hit, "Under The Milky Way" finally made its way towards the end of the second set.

The group rounded out their appearance with "Tantalized" and "An Interlude."
