Blackberry Smoke
Rocked Columbus

Blackberry Smoke brought their 25th Anniversary Tour to Kemba Live in Columbus last night and proceeded to tear it down.

​

Cleveland is in for a treat when they play the Agora on August 14.

​

Charlie Starr and the boys played songs from nine different albums that they have released from over their 25 year history.  They kicked off the show with "All Over the Road" from the You Hear Georgia lp and went right into "Good One Coming On."

​

In the middle of the show, Starr noticed a sign that read "Happy 25th Anniversary"    Starr quipped, "That's right, happy 25th Anniversary to us!"  He then went into a story about playing different Columbus venues over the years.

​

The rockin' "Waiting For The Thunder" was preceded by "Sleeping Dogs Lie" which turned into an extended jam that saw the band tear into The Beatles "Come Together" before coming back to end the song.

​

Starr got the crowd to sing along with "I Ain't Got The Blues Anymore" and the ever popular "Run Away From it All."

​

The main set ended with "One Horse Town" and "Old Scarecrow."

​

The boys returned with opening act, Jason Newsted (formally of Metallica) to rock out on Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak."

​

The party came to a close with "Ain't Much Left Of Me."

​

As always, Blackberry Smoke put on a great, straight ahead, rock and roll show.

​

Jason Newsted is out with his new Chophouse band and they opened up the show playing a few covers that included "Diamonds and Rust" as well as "Turn The Page." A couple originals were played as well along  with a snippet of "Creeping Death" to appease the Metallica fans in the audience.
