Squeeze and Adam Ant bring two distinct strains of British new wave and pop-rock to Cleveland, pairing Squeeze’s sharp songwriting and soulful hooks with Adam Ant’s flamboyant, theatrical style. Fans can expect a night built around some of the most recognizable songs of the late ’70s and ’80s, making the Jacobs Pavilion stop a strong double bill for longtime followers and anyone who grew up with the MTV era.

Squeeze, led by the celebrated songwriting partnership of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, should have plenty of classics to draw from, including “Tempted,” “Up the Junction,” “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell),” “Black Coffee in Bed” and “Hourglass,” while also showcasing material from the band’s current creative period. Adam Ant brings his own collection of instantly recognizable favorites, with songs such as “Goody Two Shoes,” “Stand and Deliver,” “Antmusic” and “Prince Charming” likely to ignite the crowd. Cleveland’s show takes place Tuesday, September 1 at 7 p.m., and the bill also includes Haircut 100, adding even more new wave nostalgia with “Love Plus One” and “Fantastic Day.”
