The Kent Stage is set for a remarkable night of British rock history when The FIXX, Colin Blunstone and Peter Asher bring their unique triple bill to Kent on Sunday, Sept. 13. The tour brings together three artists whose music helped define different eras of British pop and rock, from the psychedelic sounds of the 1960s to the new wave explosion of the 1980s. The FIXX, led by vocalist Cy Curnin, remain one of the most distinctive bands to emerge from the MTV era, with a sound built around atmospheric keyboards, expressive guitar work and propulsive rhythms.

The FIXX should provide the evening's biggest dose of '80s nostalgia with songs including “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Saved by Zero,” “Red Skies,” “Stand or Fall,” “The Sign of Fire” and “Are We Ourselves?” The band's breakthrough 1983 album Reach the Beach became a double-platinum success, while their subsequent releases continued producing radio and MTV favorites. The current lineup also continues to perform material from the band's later catalog, including songs from their 2022 album Every Five Seconds, making this more than simply a trip down memory lane.

Adding an entirely different dimension to the evening is Colin Blunstone, the unmistakable voice of The Zombies, who will draw from his seven-decade career with classics such as “She's Not There,” “Tell Her No” and “Time of the Season,” along with selections from his solo work. Peter Asher brings another chapter of British music history to the stage, performing songs from his days with Peter & Gordon—including “A World Without Love,” “I Go to Pieces” and “Lady Godiva”—while sharing stories from his remarkable career as a performer, manager and producer. With the three acts representing the British Invasion, psychedelic pop and MTV-era new wave, the Kent Stage show promises an unusually rich celebration of British music history.
