Sting Playing
EJ Thomas
November 1, 2

Music fans will have two opportunities to experience the legendary Sting when the former Police frontman brings his STING 3.0 Tour to E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron on November 1 and 2. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee has enjoyed one of the most successful careers in modern music, first as the lead singer and bassist of The Police before establishing himself as a Grammy-winning solo artist. The current tour features Sting alongside longtime guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, delivering a stripped-down, power-trio approach that puts the spotlight on his distinctive voice, sophisticated songwriting and musicianship. The intimate format offers a fresh perspective on a catalog that spans decades of rock, pop and reggae-influenced hits.

Fans can expect a memorable evening filled with classics from both The Police and Sting's solo career. Songs such as “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Every Breath You Take” and “Walking on the Moon” remain cornerstones of The Police's legacy, while solo favorites like “Fields of Gold,” “Englishman in New York,” “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You” and “Desert Rose” showcase Sting's versatility as a songwriter. The STING 3.0 Tour revisits these familiar favorites with the energy and spontaneity of a three-piece band, allowing the musicians to explore the arrangements in new ways. With two nights scheduled at the University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall, audiences will have an opportunity to see one of rock's most enduring artists deliver an intimate performance celebrating a remarkable musical legacy.
